Summerfest Day Features Lavender, Daylilies and Quilt Show July 12

Early summer is a great way to celebrate gardening but when a quilt show is also celebrated the day is bound to be wonderful. July 12, from 10:00-4:00 the Winding Waters Quilt Guild will have their show in the Keeping Room. Our area is so very blessed to have so many talented quilters. At 1:30 a show and tell of quilts will be held on the porch of the Keeping Room. Anyone is welcome to bring a favorite quilt to show as all quilts seem to have a story.

Besides a quilt show, free presentations will be held under the canopy. At 10:30, Helen Trueblood, Master Gardener and Daylily Expert, will discuss "Growing and Dividing Daylilies and Perennials". At 12:30 Betty Manning will give a cooking demonstration "Using Lavender" and will discuss various uses of this wonderful herb. At 3:00 Greg Manning will present "Growing Hostas".

Delicious food will be available at Twigs and Sprigs Tearoom. During this special day, we will be featuring a dessert using lavender and even have our lavender and daylily plants on sale. Make plans to join us for the wonderful summer event.
